NSP-2: Molecular Sieve
NSP-2 is used in the production of compressed gas (CNG) and liquefied gas (LNG) to deep dehydrate the gas, preventing the equipment from freezing up and clogging while pressurizing and liquefying.
Two tower processes can be used over a longer period of time. In production, the towers are in different states. One is in an adsorption mode and another in an activation/regeneration mode. During adsorption the gas with high moisture content passes through the molecular bed from the top to the bottom. This reduces the disturbance in the gas flow. Pressure-lowering and pressure generation rates must be lower than 0.3MPa/min, when switching from adsorption to regeneration.
