Good plasticity is required for 3D printing metal powder. This powder must meet the following requirements: small powder size, tight particle size distributions, good fluidity, good bulk density, good fluidity and good sphericity.
Three types of preparation for 3D printing metallic powder are available: reduction method; electrolysis method; grinding method; atomization method. Presently, China’s two most common pulverizing techniques are the plasma rotating electro method and argon.
1. Argon atomization

2. Plasma rotating electrode technique
Plasma state can be described as the fourth state. You can simply describe the plasma rotating electrode atomization process (prep method) as follows: After the metal or alloy is made, it melts under the coaxial plasma-arc heating source, to form liquid electrode. Next, the liquid droplet, which is formed by rotating centrifugal force under high rotation, is broken further under shear stress and then cools to solidify into spherical particles under the influence of surface tension.
