Aluminum oxide
This is an aluminum stable oxide. The chemical formula for it is Al2O3. Aluminium oxide can also be called “bauxite” in ceramics, mining and materials science.
Aluminium oxide is a common amphotericoxide (corundum is Alpha-shaped, belongs to the hexagonal density packing). It is inert, slightly solubilized in acid and alkali and resistant to corrosion. Aluminum oxide dissolves in organic acids and alkaline solutions but it is nearly insoluble in water.
Alumina contains more than 10 homogeneous Crystals. These include g, b, and a Al2O3 (corundum) crystals. The properties of different structures are very varied and at temperatures higher than 1300degC, they can almost be transformed completely into a Al2O3.
There are over 300 varieties of non-metallurgical Aluminum Oxide at present. They all have excellent physical and chemical characteristics, wide applications, and a much lower price than metallurgical.
One example is high-purity ultrafine aluminum oxide. This high-purity alloy has excellent properties such as a high melting temperature, high resistance to electrical current, wear resistance, heat resistance, and green resistance.
It is mostly used to make LED artificial sapphires crystals, advanced ceramics as well as PDP phosphors. The raw material used to make sapphire-crystal can be made into powder, blocks, or granules depending on the requirements.
