Zinc sulfide
It is an organic compound with the chemical formula ZnS. Its color ranges from white to yellowish powder. Zinc sulfuride turns darker when exposed light is applied.
Zinc sulfuride is usually obtained through the combination of hydrogen sulfide, zinc salt solution. A small amount of Cu Mn, Ag can be added to the ZnS to activate it. It will then emit different colors when illuminated. Zinc sulfuride is useful for paint preparation, analysis, painting, paint-making, filling rubber, and as a reagent in paint.

Bhargava’s 1994 report on the nano-ZnS-Mn phosphor surface passivation showed that it not only had an external quantum efficacy of 18% at high temperatures, but also had a fluorescence lifespan of five orders of magnitude shorter and also emits light. It has a dramatically improved performance, opening up new avenues for ZnS application in materials.
Zinc sulfuride can also be used for making white pigments such as glass and rubber. It is also useful in creating luminous paints, plastics, rubber and other materials.
