Product Performance of ETB 2-Tert-Butoxyethanole:
ETB causes mild skin irritation, and it has a low photochemical reaction. The main application in the coating industry is the emulsion-water dispersion coat. Due to the high HLB value, the function of the solvent in the dispersion process plays the roles of dispersant, emulsifier, rheological agents, and cosolvent. ETB improves the drying speed, adhesion strength, brightness and flatness in water-dispersing paints. The tert-butyl molecule is a highly stable photochemical compound. The water-dispersing film made using this solvent is stable, even when the temperature drops in winter. ETB, as a solvent ink or diluent, can improve ink rheology and improve gloss, adhesion, high-speed printing.

Applications ETB 2-Tert-Butoxyethanol:
2-TERT-Butoxyeethanol was used as ethanol and defoamer to improve drying speed, flatness, gloss, and fastness to adhesion of water disperse coating.
The tertbutyl structure of the ETB coating provides excellent photochemical stability. It can also eliminate bubbles and pinholes from the paint film. ETB’s water-dispersible ETB coating has a good storage stability. ETC can increase gloss. ETB can be added to amino and Nitrocellulose paints in order to reduce “orange peeling” and increase the gloss by 2 – 6%. ETB, as a solvent made from ink or as a dilute dispersant in the printing ink can improve the rheology, gloss, and adhesion. ETB can be used to extract fibers. Alien Signal used ETB for the extraction of 76% polyethylene fibers with mineral oil. This reduced mineral oil content to 0.15%. Asahi Electric Company of Japan used it as a household cleaner. After treating the polyoxy-propane and ETB-containing fibers with KOH, they obtained polyoxy-propane-mono-butyl ether.
