The tendency is to have higher symmetry as temperatures increase, which is normal. Small percentages of yttrium or calcium oxides are cubic. The cubic phase is found in the very rare mineral (Zr Ti)O2. Monoclinic Zirconia is composed of zirconium centers with seven coordinates, as opposed to TiO2, which has six-coordinated titan in all phases.
